One June 10 Krasnoyarsk Governor Alexander Khloponin signed the new Rules of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The solemn ceremony was attended by deputy-governors, deputies of the regional parliament, and other officials of the region.
After listening to the national anthem, the officials and others who were present at the ceremony were told that the new rules had been passed in the final reading at the Fifth Session of the Legislative Assembly on June 5.
"This document is a great, significant and historically important document in its kind," said Alexander Uss, speaker of the Legislative Assembly. "And this can be explained, as we are dealing with the main law, the Constitution of our huge region. This is a basic document which is the foundation for the whole regional law system, which is set to determine our future life. It is a thought-through, well-done, real Siberian document."
After his speech the document was signed by Gov. Alexander Khloponin in two copies, one for routine work, the other to be passed to the Regional Museum.
