 Olympic champion Olga Pyleva, who returned to big sport after two years' disqualification period in February 2008, announced she would change her surname.
Next season the biathlete will have the surname of Valery Medvedtsev, her husband and personal coach, a famous sportsman in the past.
"I have been willing to take my husband's surname earlier, and by foreign passport has expired lately. In my new passport I will be Medvedtseva. Return to big sport is a new life and a new surname," "Sport" TV Channel quoted the sportswoman as saying.
As Newslab reported earlier, Pyleva performed in Biathlon European Championship in Czechia in February having shown satisfactory results. After that the biathlete decided to join Russian races.
