The Fifth Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum, where presidential candidate Dmitry Medvedev made his economic program public, took place in Krasnoyarsk on February 15 and 16.
Medvedev's speech was continued at the plenary meeting "The medium-term strategy of the innovative development of Russia" on Friday, the first day of the forum. It was at the plenary session where concrete suggestions to put Medvedev's program into effect in Russia were made.
The exhibition of investment projects, whose authors had applied for getting support from Russian Investment Fund, took place at the Economic Forum on Friday too.
The most important projects presented were the following ones: the complex development project of South Yakutia, the public private partnership project "The complex development of Transbaikalia", the construction of Kuznetsovsk tunnel at the railway connecting Komsomolsk-on-Amur and Sovetskaya Gavan, the exploitation of express passenger trains at St. Petersburg-Helsinki railway line (both the projects presented by Russian Railways), and an investment project of the creation of a mining and metallurgical cluster in the Amur River region.
SIBENCO (Siberian Coal Energy Company) and the Krasnoyarsk Territory administration signed a social and economic cooperation agreement. This year $2 million will be spent on the development of SIBENCO coal mines and districts, where those are situated.
On Friday evening a charity hockey match between businessmen and officials took place at Krasnoyarsk forum. The victory was gained by the businessmen.
On Saturday famous Barcelona architect Jose Acebillo Marin delivered a lecture for students of Siberian Federal University. He told about the construction of venues for the Olympics 1992.
On Saturday the regional administration signed a cooperation agreement with OJSC HydroOGC. The agreement is aimed at the development of hydropower resources and the improvement of social and economic situation in the region.
Moreover, a plenary session "New economic geography of Russia", a business session "Russia – South-East Asia", and various panel discussions were held at the economic forum. A freight terminal was opened in Yemelyanovo Airport of Krasnoyarsk.
The investment projects presented at the forum are estimated to cost over $700 billion. More than 1,000 companies including 400 foreign ones attended the forum.
