A new TV channel will broadcast in Krasnoyarsk in metric region. The contest commission of the federal mass communication and culture regulatory agency Rossvyazokhrankultury named the winner in the contest for the right to broadcast on 12 radio channel Thursday. The winner is Channel 12 Ltd, which was registered in Krasnoyarsk in 2006.
As the new company's spokesperson reported, it was based on cooperation of Krasnoyarsk Prima-TV Company and Yenisei-Region TV Channel. The new TV channel will start broadcasting on March 1, 2008. The conception of broadcasting is "a family town channel".
The channel will have no network partner and buy all TV programs and other video products on independent terms. It is planned to make broadcasting everyday and round-the-clock.
"Krasnoyarsk had to compete for the right to broadcast with RTR and Perviy Kanal, however, the project of Krasnoyarsk company was found more interesting from the view-point of the development of regional television", the spokesperson said. However, he would not specify the audience, which the channel would be intended for.
The technological base of Prima-TV will be mainly used for broadcasting. Sergey Rubtsov, who had occupied various posts in the news service of Prima earlier, was appointed director of the new TV channel.
