Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prince Albert II of Monaco went boating 48 km down the Yenisei River on August 13.
Having visited the archeological site of Por-Bazhyn Fortress, Putin and Prince Albert II of Monaco flew to the upper Yenisei River by helicopter and boated down the rapid part of the river. The total length of the trip was 48 km.

Their boats got onto rapids twice during the trip, and the officials had to step into the water and push them with their hands. Russian president and Prince of Monaco were fishing and visited a village of old believers, whose family of a father, a mother, nine sons with their wives and children, and five daughters with their husbands and children, had lived in the area for a long time.

In the end of the trip Vladimir Putin, Albert II, students and teachers carrying out Por-Bazhyn excavations, enjoyed a concert by Tuvan musical groups, drinking tea near the fire, the Kremlin press service reported. Chirgilchin, Ottay, and Alash groups performed in the concert.

After the concert Putin thanked the musicians. He said that it were such people like they, who made the best of Russia, working in various fields, including arts. Then Putin and Albert II had memory photos taken with the students and the musicians.
