 70-80% of total e-mail traffic was spam in Russia between October and November. The outcomes of a study carried out by Russian designers of anti-virus, anti-spam software, and attacks by hackers has shown that spam share in the total amount of e-mail was nearing 80-85% in late November, REGNUM reported.
Experts estimated that spam volume on New Year holidays increased between October and November. Spam has been on a rise in the recent months.
Amendments to the law to punish providers who contribute to distribution of unwanted advertising might help to solve this problem.
