Krasnoyarsk, Dec. 3 (Newslab) - All-seasonal fun park "Bobrovy Log" opened in Krasnoyarsk last weekend. "Bobrovy Log" is the first ski resort of world standard in Russia. It appeared in the city thanks to personal initiative of Krasnoyarsk Territory Governor Alexander Khloponin and investments of regional and city authorities, along with a big investor in the person of Norilsk Nickel. The opening took place with participation of authorities, music and cinema stars on December, 3.
Governor Alexander Khloponin thanked the investor for participation in the project. "It is, first of all, the merit of all the Krasnoyarsk Territory residents that we have such a complex in the center of Russia. We have got a unique object, which no federal entity has now," he said. Moreover, Khloponin made a present to children and youth sport school of the Olympic Reserve in the form of a certificate for the purchase of sport equipment.
"We are pleased to present this all-seasonal park to all the residents of huge Krasnoyarsk Territory both for family rest and for going in for sport. The latest technologies, which surpass all the western analogues, have been used here," Norilsk Nickel Director-General Mikhail Prokhorov said at the opening ceremony. He thanked all the project participants and expressed special gratitude the fun park builders.
The opening was continued with a concert of music stars and a firework. A total of 10,000 people attended the event.
The first stage of construction has finished in the Fun Park by now. There are objects for comfortable winter sports and entertainment in compliance with the world standards. Snow-compacting and artificial snow making special cars are used to form the tracks in the park. Thanks to this, one will be able to ski there from November to April. The park is equipped with professional mountaineering equipment made by world producers.
There will be 15 ski tracks of different level of difficulty, ranging from 400 to 1,800 m in length, two four-seat chair lifts, 2 restaurants, 5 bars, a night club, and a parking place for 500 cars in "Bobrovy Log". Illumination of the ski tracks gives an opportunity to hold international border-cross and parallel slalom competitions.
At the second stage of construction all-seasonal objects are to be opened in the Fun Park: an artificial skating rink, a side-show park and a beach.
Krasnoyarsk and Krasnoyarsk Territory authorities allocated more than $1.5 m on facilities, construction of a water supply network and a sewerage system. The park construction included such projects as bank consolidation of the Bazaikha River and a project on energy supply for the village worth more than 9.5 m.
The total investment volume by all the project participants was $87 m, including more than $11 m by authorities. Financial investment by Norilsk Nickel was $76 m.
