Russian volleyball team will receive $1 m award for a victory at Women's World Championship in Japan, All-Russian Volleyball Federation Vice President Valentin Zhukov announced.
"We have got an idea to take the cup our team won in the World Championship around all the towns, where the girls live. Such a show would contribute to volleyball propaganda," RIA Novosti quotes Zhukov as saying.
The cup awarded for a victory in the World Championship is a challenge. It will be kept in Rsusia for 4 years until the next World Championship.
It is worth reminding that Russia's national team had gained a victory over Brazil in the final of WC 2006 and won gold of the world championship for the first time in the latest history of Russia.
