A special voyage of 'Alexander Matrosov' motor ship has departed with an international mission 'Holy Rus, keep Orthodox belief' from Krasnoyarsk river station on June, 24. The procession downstream the Yenisey is devoted to the 15th anniversary of election of Alexy II to Moscow altar, the 15ht anniversary of revival of Krasnoyarsk Eparchy and the uniting of Krasnoyarsk Territory. More than 250 people from different states of the world will participate in the sacred procession.
There have been Krasnoyarsk and Yenisey Archbishop Anthony, Abakan and Kyzyk Bishop Ionaphan, representatives of Orthodox churches of 8 states – the USA, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Byelorussia and others, Alexander Khloponin, Krasnoyarsk Territory governor, Oleg Budargin, Taymyr Autonomous Area governor, Peter Pimashkov, Krasnoyarsk mayor, representatives of V. P. Astafyev's Fund and church collectives present at the solemn event.
After the sacred procession from Holy Pokrov Cathedral to the river station Archbishop Anthony has held a prayers and consecrated 'Alexander Matrosov' motor ship. Then he has awarded Alexander Khloponin with Saint Daniil Moscovian Order for revival of churches in the territory, in particular, for support of building of a cathedral in Dudinka.
The governor has thanked the archbishop and stated that he would try to justify the trust, 'Orthodox church united Russian territories a long time ago, long before the formal uniting held in the territory. The sacred procession will make people closer once again.'
The motor ship will have a few stops in towns and villages of Krasnoyarsk Territory, Taymyr and Evenkia. Processions and a liturgy by Archbishop Anthony are planned in Yeniseysk, Bor Village, Dudinka and Norilsk, visiting of a men's monastery - in Turukhansk, where relics of Vasily Mangazeysky, a martyr, are situated.
In addition, literary readings on spiritual themes are planned at the motor ship; there will be a trade fair of church attributes and books working. The voyage will finish with a sacred procession from the river station to Holy Pokrov Cathedral and a gratitude prayer on July, 5.
