A meeting with participants of V interterritorial theatre festival ‘Siberian Transit’, representatives of Altay Vasily Shukshin Territorial Drama Theatre, will be held in the framework of the festival on May, 26. IA REGNUM-KNews has been informed of that in the press center of the festival.

Altay Theatre will show the performance ‘Yakutia’ after Alexander Stroganov’s play in the framework of ‘Siberian Transit’. It is worth mentioning that the playwright is the stage manager of the performance too. Alexander Stroganov, Georgy Opukhov, the actor of the main role, Russian people’s actor, and Vladimir Zolotar, the chief producer of the theatre, will present Altay Drama Theatre to the society and their contest performance at the meeting in Krasnoyarsk Writer’s House.

It is worth mentioning that Altay Shukshin Territorial Drama Theatre has participated in all the previous festivals ‘Siberian Transit’ with the following plays: ‘The Three-Penny Opera’ (I Festival, Novosibirsk, 2001), ‘The Watchman’ (II Festival, Irkutsk, 2002), ‘The Generous Cuckold’ (III Festival, Omsk, 2003), ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (IV Festival, Tomsk, 2004). ‘Alexander Stroganov creative workshop’ was created in the theatre in 2004. The producer is a doctor-psychiatrist by profession, an assistant of Psychiatry Chair of Altay State Medicine University. He has made an original method of ‘Epic therapy’ on the basis of Bertolt Brecht’s theatre system, directed at treatment of neurotic diseases and has defended a candidate’s paper on the theme ‘Epic therapy and its usage in treatment of neurotic diseases’ in Novosibirsk State Medicine Academy.

The producer of ‘Yakutia’ has been going in for literature for over 20 years. He is the author of 30 plays, a laureate of a poetic festival ‘Workshops of Modern’ and Demidov Prize in literature. Alexander Stroganov’s works have been published and staged in Russia and abroad.
